On November 8 and 9, the  Spain-Americas Forum: The role of civil society in the sustained eradication of child labor and the protection of adolescent workers will be held , a space to promote and generate dialogues and exchanges on the contributions and the relevance of this sector to achieve Target 8.7 of the 2030 Agenda and end child labor by 2025.

The Spain-Americas Forum is organized by the Andalusian Agency for International Development Cooperation (AACID) in collaboration with the Regional Initiative for Latin America and the Caribbean free of child labor and the ILO, with the support of the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation to Development (AECID), the Global March against Child Labor, Ayuda en Acción, the Andalusian Coordinator of ONGD (CAONGD) and the Coordinadora ONGD-España (CONGD).

This meeting will allow evaluating joint work opportunities to promote and strengthen alliances of mutual support between civil society organizations in Spain and the Americas, which can be welcomed by the countries of the region as a complement to their efforts.

Likewise, it will seek to adopt commitments to promote the advance of the sustained eradication of child labor and the protection of adolescent workers in Latin America and the Caribbean, which plan to be presented at the IV World Conference on the Sustained Eradication of Child Labor, to be held. from November 14 to 16 in Buenos Aires-Argentina.

The forum will feature the participation of Kailash Satyarthi, 2014 Nobel Peace Prize winner and recognized activist for children's rights; Alfonso Navarrete Prida, Secretary of Labor and Social Welfare of Mexico, member of the High Level Authority of the Regional Initiative; Joaquín Nieto, Director of the ILO Office in Spain; Héctor Rivero, President of the Andalusian Coordinator of ONGD and Susana Díaz Pacheco, President of the Junta de Andalucía; among others. It is expected to receive more than 80 representatives of the sector focused on the various issues related to the rights of children and adolescents, productivity, rural development, etc.
